This is a great way to share info that your are interested in that may not belong on your website. Or if you don’t have a website but have some knowledge about something that other folks may be interested in.

Also they have a cool way of sharing the revenue generated by your page. So if you want to make some money online this may be a good way to do it.

Seo for Nashville Home Inspection

I just did some lite SEO as I like to call it. For a Nashville Home Inspection service. It is a new site that my customer created using Go Daddy. The site has been up for a few months but is not showing up in Google for the most popular search terms related to his business. After checking to make sure his site had been indexed by Google, which basically just means they know he exists, I looked for his site under the common keyword search. I quit looking at page 31. So I will continue to monitor his progress and report back with updates.

Google’s idea of an April fools Joke

This is what I love about Google. They bring great things to the internet with a since of humor and style. I just saw a red link on my Gmail page showing me that there was a new Auto Pilot email system available you can see it for yourself here.

Hemphill and Moore Realty look a like ?

So if you know me you know that more times than not when I get to pick where we eat I like to pick Mexican food. I am not talking about Chi-Chi’s or Taco Bell. I eat at Mexican restaurants where the folks speak Spanish. I believe these are the best kinds. I’m sure they are all over the country. Here in Nashville we have plenty to choose from. Every town usually has 4-5 run by Hispanic families. Anyway on to the point. I find my self eating lunch at odd times like 3pm. Usually things are slow and half the staff is sitting down folding napkins and watching Univision. Which from what I can tell is the Hispanic channel of choice.

A month or more ago I was driving around and saw a Hemphill and Moore Realty Sign. At this time the sign was in black only. After seeing it for a week or more and noticing that it resembled the Univision logo. I called the company. I told them that there logo looked very close to that of the Univision logo. They said ok with no real interest and that was it. I few months later I noticed that there signs had changed to color and now look even more like the logo.

So what do you think. Is this a logo rip off or a honest mistake? To see other logo’s that look alike visit this site.

And just in case you are wondering it is not ok to take a symbol of of another logo and put it on yours. Even if you change the color up a little.

What is Feed Burner. Why you should use it.

So if you are one of the many that read this blog every day and check it regularly for new content you will be happy to know that there is a service that will deliver the newest posts directly to you. A Lot like USPS except it doesn’t cost me anything and you don’t have to put on your slippers to go get it. The most popular service is Feed Burner. I have just added it to this site and the icon is in the right column.

So How does Feed Burner work.

It is really quite simple and free. When you click on the button that says subscribe in reader it will take you to a new window. You will see something that looks like this.

You will likely see a familiar logo. Maybe you have a yahoo account or a Google account like most intelligent people. These companies that you use to check your email along with others have caught on to this popular blogging kick and have created readers. A reader is like a newspaper customized by you. All of your favorite blogs that you subscribe to like this one and this one will be included in the reader. So instead of trying to visit all of the blogs that you like with your morning coffee. You can open the reader and see them all in one place. This is also convenient when you find a blog that you may want to visit again but may not remember the URL. You can subscribe in your reader or bookmark it. If they let you down with boring content you can unsubscribe. It is like breaking up or just not answering the phone anymore. It’s ok it will likely make them a better person in the long run.

Why You Should Use It.

Because it is awesome. And because blogs usually have the latest news and trends affecting your industry or hobbies. You can stay in the know and become more intelligent and better looking as a result. It also lets the blogger know that you thought the blog was worth keeping track of. That is a great morale booster. As you can tell by the feed burner readers on this site, that unless I get some clicks soon morale could be low. But this is the season for giving so why not throw out a charity feed and sign up.

SEO Experiment day 11 of 30 Being a responsible blog reader

I have to say that this has been a great experience. I am very happy with the results. Not just the increase in traffic, but the great blogs that I have found while trying to get mine noticed.

After posting a comment on a blog that I had read one day and making a post about that blog I received record high traffic. There was not much of a record to break but it broke none the less.

So what I have learned through this is that we need to be Responsible blog readers. When you read a blog leave a comment if you like it. This encourages the writer to continue writing. Or if they have a digg icon at the bottom of the post digg the post. If you have a facebook profile put a link on your facebook. I have had a few and I mean very few friends put a link on there facebook and I did notice a spike in traffic. As a new blogger this makes me feel awesome. Which makes me want to continue writing.

Be Sociable. Why not?

I hope this provides a way for my readers to keep up with and share the blog a little better. You should see some links to common sites that you may already be apart of. This is all apart of the SEO experiment that was started today.

Slow Economy Marketing

Businesses are looking to cut costs. Where should they cut cost? Likely they will cut any cost that will not force them to shut the doors. Many times the first to go is marketing, but why would you cut marketing when businesses are looking. You may be the answer to someones cost cut. You may be the one that can do the same job at a better price. You may be the one that can make the process more effective or less costly. How likely are they to find out how much you could have helped if your not trying to get noticed.

Marketing, whether it be on the web or in print is all the more important when times are tight. Companies that would have never considered leaving there current vendor are now willing to consider it. That raises another good point. If things are going pretty good for you now. Make sure that your customers know what value you bring. Make sure you are staying in constant contact with them because they may be willing to cut you to save some money.
