i'm going to disagree on the Sprite logo, i think it is amazing, chiefly because of the Lemon/Lime part of the logo, i think that portrays it very well. The star-burst shape that encompasses it however.... not feeling that so much. and let's not forget sprite's past attempts at rebrands:

i think one thing hurting the logo in this article is presentation. i for one when i saw the new logo really liked what they had done.

I might be in the minority but I liked the changed Tropicana packaging. Seeing it in the store I gave a second look over the generic. Maybe I'm one for more of a clean design over the old cluttered feel. The way the economy has been being a name brand might not be as good as it used to, so blending in with the generic somewhat might be a good move. I could be totally wrong, and probably am but that's my two cents

The Sprite, Blimpie & Pepsi redesigns seem to me that they've thrown out good branding to start over. I was upset when Burger King updated their logo, even though it was minor I lost the Burger King I grew up with.

Great post and blog keep up the interesting topics.

Hi Don:
Thanks for the logo discussions. In my opiniong:

Tropicana looks like generic juice.

Sprite's logo is a bit stronger and more up to date, but Blimpie's shouldn't even be called a logo. That is just type.

Thanks for creating the forum.

i agree with you, all three of those logo redesigns missed the mark. The Blimpie and Tropicana have went too bland and forgettable. Sprite did the opposite, they tried to do too much. Im still upset about pepsi.
